Fundraising and Community Outreach

Clatsop Cares Foundation hosts fundraising and outreach events in support of Clatsop Care Health District and our Strategic Initiatives, building a network of community partners committed to keeping long-term care close to home.

Our inaugural featured event at the end of May was a Seafood Boil Fundraiser honoring Freda Englund's legacy, featuring live music, a silent auction with items valued between $100–300, a dessert bar, and a 50/50 raffle.

The evening included welcome remarks, a program on the Foundation's mission from former founder Anita Schacher, and closing remarks from Board President Mary Nauha. Local sponsors — including Englund Marine, SISU Brewing (which donated $1 per beer sold), and several downtown Astoria businesses — helped support the event.

Silverscreen

The most meaningful memories are made in the moments we share with others.

Your generous donation helps us to support the SilverScreen movie series for seniors in our community at the Liberty Theater on the first Tuesday of each month from September through June. Together, we’re creating a place where compassionate care and quality of life will always come first for our seniors!

Community Education

This is a free online resource followed by a hands-on event providing step-by-step instruction and help for seniors and their families who want to know how to protect their identity in an increasingly digital world.
