Four Steps Toward Better Digital Safety
You don't have to do everything at once. Choose one step to work on today.
Check the Caller
Caller ID can be faked. Hang up and call the number on your bank card or statement. Avoid links in unexpected texts and emails.
Keep Control
Never move money to a “safe account” at a caller's direction. Keep sign-in codes private and don't give unexpected callers control of your device.
Strengthen Your Sign-In
Use a long, unique password for each account. Turn on two-factor authentication and keep your devices and apps updated.
Consider a Free Credit Freeze
Contact Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion separately. A credit freeze can help block new credit accounts from being opened in your name.
