Clatsop Cares Foundation hosts fundraising and community events to support Clatsop Care Health District and its educational outreach seminars, building a network of community partners committed to keeping long-term care close to home.

Our inaugural featured event at the end of May was a Seafood Boil Fundraiser honoring Freda Englund's legacy, featuring live music, a silent auction with items valued between $100–300, a dessert bar, and a 50/50 raffle.

The evening included welcome remarks, a program on the Foundation's mission from former founder Anita Schacher, and closing remarks from Board President Mary Nauha. Local sponsors — including Englund Marine, SISU Brewing (which donated $1 per beer sold), and several downtown Astoria businesses — helped support the event.
